Q1: What led you to pick computer science/data science?
Because of its versatility, extremely fast pace
Both fields are becoming more prominent
There is a lot of mobility within both the fields, in terms of being able to explore different fields within each major
Q2: What activities did you pursue to prepare for this major? Were there any activities that led you to pursue this major?
Was in superposition, an empowering woman in stem organization, that helped her learn about the importance of leadership.
Superposition inspired her to join other computer science clubs
Became the president of the engineering and technology club
Q3: What advice do you have for high schoolers who want to pursue this major?
Instead of coding itself, you have to focus on the application and what you can do with it
Get first-hand experience through internships/jobs/hackathons/clubs
Q4: Would learning about applications on edX or other online courses be a good idea?
When you throw yourself into the deep end (through hands-on experiences), that is when you get the most out of it. However, it’s good for learning the basics.
After learning foundations, maybe start with common projects and later work on specific ones.
Having passion really, really helps!
Q5: Do you know what career you want to go into?
Can pick up anything with this degree cuz it so major and technical
She will start off as a software engineer, then later choose a more niche field.
Wants to work in an intersection of two fields like business and tech or television and tech

Her role in superposition was business-oriented, and she is interested in business.

Final words
You don’t have to be a competitive coder or want to learn the coding languages to be in the field. You can just be interested in the applications of coding and do well.
