Q1: What steps did you take to pursue your passion?

  • Engineering expert: “Learning, never stop learning.”

  • Fashion expert: “The first step I ultimately took was slow down. I took a step back and noticed what made me happy. From then I absorbed everything I could. I researched, studied, and learned the history and cultural impact fashion had on society. I messaged brand owners, creative directors, and personal stylists expressing my interest and joy in their work. As well as applying to related programs. Ensuing everything else, I relied heavily on faith. I believed everything was going to be okay. When I took the extra steps to learn about myself to put the best foot forward, I realized I had the ability to change every moment. The great part of being in any situation is being able to make a difference. When I had this faith, to a sense an invisible bridge, that I could walk across but couldn't see and stepped on but still hadn't fallen. I realized that's what faith is. The more self conscious I became, the closer I was to the other side of things.”


Q2: What is a typical day (or week) like for you? What are your main responsibilities?

  • Engineering expert: “My typical day look like doing the Engineering calculations, plans, drawings and meetings with co workers and customers.”

  • Fashion expert: “A typical day for me is self care, working out, styling appointments, learning how to cook a dish or two and repeat. While my main responsibilities are to be in high energy, honest with myself, and being happy.”


Q3: What do you wish you knew before you joined your respective field?

  • Engineering expert: “different hands on experience”

  • Fashion expert: “I wish I knew how much I had to trust myself above everything else.”

Q4: What are some common career paths in your field?

  • Economics expert: “Banking, analysis, academia, teacher/professor, finance.”

  • Engineering expert: “Structural & civil engineering”

  • Fashion expert: “Fashion forecaster, buyer, personal stylist, marketing manager, creative director, etc.”


Q5: What kind of education, training, or background does your job require?

  • Economics expert: “Bachelors of science in economics"

  • Engineering expert: “Civil engineering license”

  • Fashion expert: “To be genuine, personable, transparent, and have communication skills. ”


Q6: What did you study in college? (any internships along the way)?

  • Economics expert: “Economics with one internship”

  • Engineering expert: “Structural engineering, civil engineering”

  • Fashion expert: “Retail Consumer Science and E-commerce.”


Q7: What skills do you recommend people have before trying to look for a job?

  • Economics expert: “Communication, Time management, organization skills, knowing how to use Microsoft office, maybe one form of CS language like python, research skills, and good attitude for work and team environment.”

  • Engineering expert: “Basic skills of everything for any field of your choice.”

  • Fashion expert: “Fashion. I recommend to trust yourself and what you're saying. Be humble. Honor your words or don't say anything. Remember the first person in line is just as important as the last. We are all equal. We all want the same thing, love, kindness, and happiness. It's not on you, it's in you and what's in you they can never take away”


Q8: Any advice for high schoolers or undergraduates interested in this field?

  • Economics expert: “Make connections, always want to learn, have a hobby.”

  • Engineering expert: “Look for yourself in the next 5 years when making choices. Once done with choosing what you want, you need to take action to get results. Then your choice will come true & will become the best. ”

  • Fashion expert: “Stay true to yourself! Understand who you are and trust the universe. A simple shift in no timeline.”
